This blog is my personal project of taking at least one picture a day for a year.

Extra

Nikon F3hp, 24mm, ISO 1600
St John's Bridge shot with film on November 21, 2009.
Just got the film processed.

So I've been having an issue with my original purpose of this blog. It was originally a way for me to show some work and at least shoot one good photo a day. Problem is that I also shoot film which can't be uploaded on the day it is taken. I have to wait until it's processed. I'm asking for opinions on whether these should be "extras" or placed on the day I get the film back. What do you think. Please help me out.

I think film is cool and you should post it whenever you like..
I mean, you could have a separate " film section " that is not part of the day to day thing, but a gallery to display that stuff separately

if the theme is day to day, it makes sense to me to do exactly what your doing

or create a separate blog for film projects only but I would just do a gallery here to show that you work in other mediums besides digital

    cool stuff dude!

  2. I love the idea, John! I don't think it matters when the film is processed; it matters at the moment in time when it is taken. If you captured an epic moment from 9-11, you wouldn't post it on a different day. Regardless, the pics are fab! :)

  3. Cool idea John! I think you should post the film images when you get them back. You could make a note of the actual day it was taken if you are so inclined. My guess is that you will probably have multiple images from a roll you will want to post. Maybe treat them as infill imagery. Can't wait to keep checking back. You're an inspiration.

  4. I admire your hootzpah! What a great discipline to pick up the camera at least once a day.
I think your viewers would enjoy just seeing your pics period. I for one would not be checking to see if that photo was taken on that very day. A day can be a relative term.
My advice is follow that pic-taken-today stipulation as best you can, but don't kill yourself. The blog has to be as fun for you as it is for your viewers.

  5. John, really great pics!! You are talented with the camera. I agree with what everyone else is saying. Post them when you can!! Maybe post a brief caption for each explaining the pict and what inspired you to take it maybe? For instance, the last one I saw was really beautiful, but I would like to know more about it and why you took it. Not a novel on each one of course. Just a brief descriptioin such as location, what inspired you to take the pict, and so on. I will put this on my desktop so I can check them out daily!! Awesome job!! :o)

  6. Do the digital so you can keep your commitment to yourself. Then go back after you have processed the film and if you get one that you would have made the pic of the day over your digital shot you could maybe add in an addendum shot or something on that one post or whatever... But don' kill your self as someone else said... Cool concept and I look forward to seeing it often! I may have to challenge myself in some way like this too, could be interesting...what to do though.....

  7. I agree with most, I really like the one or two lines about the shot. then again, maybe people like commenting about what THEY think the pic is!
    Love the idea, babe.
